Welcome,
My name is Marcie Dryden. I have been a dedicated educator in the Royal Oak School District for over 25 years and have loved every minute of it! It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the building administrator at Helen Keller, an authorized International Baccalaureate school. I look forward to leading Keller in ways that fosters continued growth in teaching, learning, community engagement, and social development.
What I love about my school and role:
I love the strong sense of community at Keller and the way our staff, students, and families work together to support one another. Being able to see students grow—both academically and as kind, caring people—is the most rewarding part of my role. Every day brings new opportunities to celebrate learning and connection.
Personal interests or fun facts:
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, being on the water, and cheering on my favorite Detroit sports teams. I also love traveling and learning about new cultures and traditions, it helps me connect with the diverse backgrounds of our students and families.
Leadership style and connection to our mission:
My leadership style is collaborative and student-centered. I believe in listening first, supporting teachers and families, and making decisions that keep students’ best interests at the heart of our work. I am deeply connected to Keller’s mission of helping every child feel valued, safe, and inspired to learn each day.
Vision, Mission and Belief Statement:
